La lucha por la vivienda (segunda parte) – Entre Mates 8-8-2016

En esta ocasión presentamos la segunda parte de las jornadas sobre el conflicto de la vivienda tanto en el Estado español como en el Reino Unido que tuvieron lugar el pasado dos de julio en Edinburgh. Después de haber publicado la primera parte de este evento que trato el tema de la PAH y estuvo a cargo de José Luis Carretero Miramar, en esta segunda parte presentamos la ponencia de Mike Williams miembro del Living Rent de Escocia. Mike nos ofrece un panorama histórico del conflicto de la vivienda en el Reino Unido deteniéndose en el rol que desempeñó Margaret Tatcher para llegar a la situación política actual. Al mismo tiempo hace una pequeña comparación del contexto británico con el Estado español y menciona algunas particularidades de la política escocesa. Para finalizar, Mike analiza la situación actual del alquiler en Escocia y describe el papel que desempeña el Living Rent así como sus logros mas importantes en los últimos años.

In this ocasion we present the second part of the forum about housing in the Spanish state and the UK that happened las July in Eidnburgh. After publishing the first part of this event that dealt with PAH and was handled by Jose Luis Carretero miramar we are publishing the secon part with a talk by Mike Williams member of the Living rent Campaing in Scotland. Mike offers us a historic view of the housing conflict in the UK focusing in the role that Margaret Tatcher played to get to the current political situation. At the same time he makes a small comparison of the British and Spanish situation and mentions some od the aprticularities of the Scotish Politics. To Sum up Mike analizes the current situation of rentinf in Scotland and describes the role that the Living Rent plays and their most important acomplishments in the last years.
